Publication at Second Faculty of Medicine |
2010

Abstract

The aim of our study was to determine the medium-term outcomes of aortic valve-sparing surgery. A total of 37 such procedures were performed in our centre during the 2002-2009 period.

The procedure was indicated for chronic ascending aortic aneurysm in 23 cases, acute dissection in 13, and type A chronic dissection in one case. The follow-up period was 1-5 years.

Four patients (10.8%) required re-do surgery for significant aortic regurgitation.
