Dental procedures in children with congenital malformations

Publication at Second Faculty of Medicine |
2010

Abstract

Treatment of the patient without signs of stress and pain is optimal in every dental practice. While the adult is able to compensate for unpleasant sensations more or less well, a completely different situation occurs when treating a child patient.

The child is otherwise adapted, both anatomically and physiologically. It has a smaller respiratory tract, is easily hyperventilated and can therefore become hypoxic.
