Abstract
Stenosis of a stoma is an abnormal narrowing of the colon opening and one of late complications of the surgery. It usually accompanies retraction of the stoma below the level of skin.
The stenosis is a consequence of secondary intention healing of peristomal region with the formation of a scar.
