Abstract

Incidence of the bone marrow edema within the humeral head after the injury of the shoulder joint was analyzed in a group of 110 patients (65 men and 45 women). Edema of the bone marrow was proved in 66 % of patients and in the majority of cases exhibited diffuse pattern and exceptionally was limited to the area of the greater tubercle.

Significant coincidence of the bone marrow edema with the lesion of the rotator cuff tendons and with the lesion of the glenoideal labrum was demonstrated.
