The author discusses the topic of chronic pelvic pain in some detail. In accordance with the American definition, the diagnosis of chronic pelvic pain in the Czech Republic is described as non-cyclic pain lasting longer than three to six months.
However, this entity is not always perceived in the same way, because it often includes diagnoses that project into the pelvis or, conversely, are outside the pelvis. The prevalence of chronic pelvic pain in the Czech Republic is difficult to determine, however, the diagnosis of chronic pelvic pain accounts for approximately 17% of indications for laparoscopic procedures.
