Autism prevalence and a problem of newborns with very low birth weight

Abstract

In the introductory part of the article, new data on prevalence of autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are summarized. In the second part of the article, studies of children with very low and extremely low birth weight who seem to be at increased risk of autism are reviewed.
