Abstract

Human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) persists after primary infection at low level in blood and may reactivate in immunosuppressed patients, especially recipients of haematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) causing encephalitis, engraftment failure, hepatitis and fever.
