Abstract

Gastroduodenal ulcer perforation is a serious surgical abdominal event requiring, except some exceptions, urgent surgery even at present. Clinical term peptic ulcer covers all ulcerous manifestations of gastroduodenal mucous membrane, but also in other parts of digestive tract mucosa such as oesophagus and jejunum, which are in contact with the action of gastric juice and pepsin.

Although the conservative pharmacological treatment of uncomplicated ulcerous disease is very effective, the quantity of patients with ulcerous disease complications, gastroduodenal ulcer perforations, remains almost the same and the number of patients age more than 65 and dying with this complication has rather increasing frequency. Establishing a diagnosis and a treatment in patients with gastroduodenal ulcer perforation still deserves the highest attention.
