Abstract

1029 / 5000 Výsledky překladu Urinary incontinence is defined as an unwanted leakage of urine that presents a hygienic or social problem. According to some research, at least transient urinary incontinence occurs in up to 50% of the female population.

According to typical clinical manifestations, we divide incontinence into stress (stress), urgent (compulsive), reflex and paradoxical. Proper taking of anamnesis is the basis of success in the diagnosis of urinary incontinence.

In the case of stress incontinence, the most successful treatment modality is surgical correction (colposuspension according to Burch, TVT surgery). Urgent continence is most often treated with parasympatholytics, the use is limited by unpleasant side effects (dry mucosa, accommodation disorders, constipation).

The goal of urinary incontinence therapy is to eliminate the problems or at least improve the quality of life of affected women in those cases where a complete cure is not possible. Due to the availability of therapeutic options, urinary incontinence cannot be considered the threshold of the third millennium as a normal part of a woman's life.
