Abstract

The retrospective study compares results of the Estimated Audiogram obtained by measuring Steady State Evoked Potentials with the classical audiogram. SSEP is a relatively new method of hearing treshold estimates used in our department since 1999.

Its main advantage is frequency specificity. Till now 1270 ears in 648 patients were examinated.

The group of 30 patients where both methods were used is evaluated. The first results are favourable - they demonstrate a great advantage especially in paediatric audiology in the youngest children.
