Abstract

Pain is a subjective feeling of the individual, which informs about the disorder in function, and possibly also organ damage. Pains and functional disorders in the area of locomotor system indicate that rehabilitation should be initiated.

Physiological classification of pain into nociceptive, neuropathic and psychogenic is important even from the standpoint of rehabilitation. The knowledge of the cause of pain is desirable for an effective treatment of it.

The remaining problem is the removal of phantom pains and causalgia. Radio frequency treatment seems to be a promising method for diminution or even elimination of pain.

Pain of increasing character as far as intensity or frequency of occurrence is concerned, is the limiting factor for further continuation in rehabilitation activities.
