In the retrospective study, five-year survival in the whole group of patients with renal cell carcinoma (RCC; n = 316) was 62,7%. In the group of patients after tumor removal (n = 302) and in the group with RCCs T1-T3b N0 M0 (n = 250) was 65,2% and 76,4%, respectively.
Considering the size of the tumor, five-year survival after removal of RCC (n = 302) in patients with tumors < 5 cm, with tumors .5 cm and < 10 cm, and with tumors .10 cm was 83,1%, 59,4% and 54,5%, respectively. There was a higher grade in larger tumors.
The difference between incidence of G1 and G3 + G4 tumors was significant (p < 0, 01). Concerning the TNM classification 2002, five-year survival of all patients (n = 316) in stage I - IV was 88,9%, 81,6%, 63,3% and 10%, respectively.
In the group of patients after RCC removal (n = 302), five-year survival in patients with T1a, T1b, T2, T3a and T3b tumors was 93,3%, 81,3%, 68,8%, 58% and 39,1%, respectively. None of three patients with T4 tumor survived fiveyear.
The five-year survival in the group of patients with RCCs N0 M0 (n = 250) in categories T1a, T1b, T2, T3a and T3b was 93,2%, 84,8%, 81,6%, 69,6% and 53,3%, respectively. The five-year survival in the group of patients after RCC removal (n = 302) was 70,5% in N0 group and 11,1% in N1 + N2 group.
Discrimination of prognosis in patients with tumors of different stages (p < 0, 001), T categories (p < 0,01) and N categories (p < 0,01) was significant. The five-year survival in the group of patients after RCC removal (n = 302) in patients with G1, G2 and G3 + G4 tumors was 79,7%, 61,5% and 40,4%, respectively.
The differences were significant (p < 0,01). The five-year survival in the group of patients with N0 M0 classification (n = 250) in patients with G1, G2 and G3 + G4 tumors was 87,8%, 69,1% and 60,5%, respectively.
