Abstract

In this paper authors assess an accuracy of preoperative diagnostic of pancreatic masses in patients with suspected pancreatic cancer, who are considered for surgery. According to this results (47 examined patients up to now) the most reliable method in diagnostic and staging of panc-reatic cancer is the endoscopic ultrasonography with guided fine-needle aspiration (sensitivity about 79 %), other ima-ging methods (computer tomography, endoscopic retrogra-de cholangiopancreaticography) have lower sensitivity.

Author's results are in correlation with previously published data. There was no serious complication in the group of e-xamined patients.
