Abstract
Book chapter explaining the mechanisms of etiopathogenesis and perpetuation of functional disorders of the locomotor system seen as a source and/or a result of nociceptive and/or painful irritation. Diagnosing and treatment of this functional disorders is of great importance in many medical specializations.
The authors describe global muscle reactions and specific local functional changes of a joint, skin and muscle with special respect to myofascial trigger points.
