Abstract
The third edition of the successful monograph summarizes, in addition to basic knowledge of internal medicine, also current information, about which all its subfields have been enriched in recent years. The text is intended primarily for postgraduate studies, but will undoubtedly also serve medical students.
It is traditionally divided into two parts - general and special. The general part includes information beyond the individual disciplines of internal medicine and includes three new chapters: on the general symptoms of internal diseases, molecular biology and a chapter on genetics.
Twenty chapters of the special part present internal diseases according to individual internal subfields; they are supplemented by the latest data from the field of diagnostics as well as modern treatment. At the end of the monograph, a short article on searching for information on the Internet with a list of the most important electronic addresses is attached.
