Chemoprophylaxis of tuberculosis among children in the Czech Republic

Abstract

Means antituberculotics chemoprophylaxis administration for individuals who are at increased risk of developing tuberculosis. In children, these are mostly primary chemoprophylaxis, which is used to protect people uninfected, but exposed to the disease (children with negative tuberculin reaction in contact with contagious TB infection).

Less often it is a secondary chemoprophylaxis, which is used in children already infected to prevent infection transition to manifest disease. In the Czech Republic is indicated in the child population in these indications.
