Biologically active polysacharides and their use in allergic diseases

Abstract

Polysacharides isolated from different fungi are particularly attractive with its complex effects on the immune system. Their use may be based on traditional oriental medicine in particular, however, modern immunology knowledge to help forge identified as active ingredients and their mechanism of action.

The effect of these polysacharides is immunomodulatory, are most often used in conventional imunodeficience. Their work is broader and more recent findings suggest the possibility of their use in immune system disorders, allergic type.
