Abstract

Headaches are one of the most common causes of disorders of subjective well-being. In pediatric headaches, the doctor has two roles: diagnostic and therapeutic.

The diagnostic has two other goals: to determine the appropriate therapy to relieve the patient of the problem and to detect and treat diseases in which the headache is a symptom. The diagnosis of headaches requires a systematic procedure, which can be summarized in a five-step balance sheet.

An important part of it is the correct and timely identification of serious conditions that require urgent solutions or other specialized care. The diagnosis of primary pain is made on the basis of clinical symptoms.

Migraine belongs to the group of primary headaches. Its characteristics differ from child to adult.

Determining the correct diagnosis is a basic prerequisite for drawing up a therapeutic plan. The treatment of primary pain has three components: acute treatment, preventive treatment and a comprehensive bio-behavioral approach.

An important part of care is the prevention of chronic daily pain.
