Abstract

Trospium chloride is a fine yellowish, water-soluble powder in an amount of approximately 1 g / 2 ml. In terms of chemical structure, it is a quaternary ammonium base derived from the structure of atropine.

It was first introduced into clinical practice in Germany in the late 1960s as a spasmolytic. This indication has remained to this day, so we can meet it in the Czech Republic as an active substance, especially in the treatment of urinary incontinence.

Currently, two medicinal products are registered with it in the Czech Republic - Spasmed (ProMed) and Uraplex (Madaus).
