Patients with diabetes worldwide are usually cared for by a general practitioner and an endocrinologist. It is a relic from a time when, as I mentioned above, diabetes mellitus was not treated, but hyperglycemia.
Thus, only one symptom was treated. It was enough to reach the current asymptomatic state and everyone was satisfied - doctor (patient does not complain), patient (nothing hurts me), payer of medical services (it costs a minimum of money), funeral home employees (more and more customers).
Please note how hard it is to promote the idea that the treatment of diabetes is a very complex, complex activity, which must be based on simultaneous intensive therapy and prevention.
