Abstract
Currently in the Czech Republic registered a number of products containing the following statins: atorvastatin, rosuvastatin, simvastatin, lovastatin, pravastatin, fluvastatin. Statins in the light of these studies seem promising group of drugs that in addition to its established use in patients with hypercholesterolaemia and in reducing cardiovascular morbidity and mortality are a number of other effects that can beneficially influence etiopatogenetické features of some other diseases.
The effect of statins (including evaluations of their safety of use) in different groups of patients will certainly be the subject of extensive clinical studies.
