Abstract
Diabetes mellitus (abbreviated DM) is the collective name for a group of chronic diseases that manifest disorder of carbohydrate metabolism. There are two basic types: type I diabetes and diabetes II. type, which are a consequence of absolute or relative deficiency of insulin.
Both diseases have similar symptoms but different causes. In the early stages of diabetes type I cells are destroyed by the pancreas that produce the hormone insulin's own immune system.
Therefore, one of the autoimmune disease. Diabetes II. type is caused by decreased tissue sensitivity to insulin's own body.
