Respiratory disorders in swimmers

Abstract

Regular physical activity is recognised as an effective health promotion. The best of them is for many people swimming.

Although swimming is generally beneficial to a person's health, recent data suggest, that it may also sometimes have detrimental effects on the respiratory system. Because swimming was introduced in some schools sport curriculum in many countries, may be possible that in young children potential respiratory problem can be found.

Similar as in the elite athletes, some of them are obliged to interrupt the intensive training regime. The reason of this disorders should be the use of chlorine products for disinfection of swimming pools.
