Abstract

Coarctation of the aorta (COA) refers to narrowing of the aortic isthmus. Hypoplasia of the aortic arch and other associated cardiovascular anomalies are common.

The term is also used to describe strictures of other segments of the thoracic or the abdominal aorta.
