Abstract

The society is facing epidemics of obesity, which represents a serious chronic disease with consequences for the whole society. In the child population it is a polygenic-associated obesity, which is accompanied by early onset of the metabolic syndrome.

The clinical picture of child obesity complications includes the problems of respiratory, gastrointestinal, cardiovascular, neurological, orthopedic and endocrinological character. At the same time child obesity has become a psychosomatic disease with serious psychosocial problems.

The consequences of child obesity are reversible in the beginning and early establishment of diagnosis and therapy is an important clinical challenge in preventing serious metabolic, organ, psychic and societal complications.
