Should All Patients Receive an Immediate Chemotherapeutic Drug Instillation After Resection of Papillary Bladder Tumors?

Publication at Second Faculty of Medicine |
2011

Abstract

The European Association of Urology (EAU) guidelines advocate an immediate instillation of a chemotherapeutic drug after transurethral resection (TURB) of all papillary bladder tumors except if perforation of the bladder is suspected. Since publication of the guidelines, this recommendation has been challenged at several meetings, as reflected in recent publications in European Urology Supplements and in BJU International.
