Mitral valve regurgitation in patients with low ejection fraction

Abstract

Syptomatic mitral valve regurgitation of both ischaemic and nonischaemic origin imparts a haemodynamic burden on the left ventricle and is a significant negative prognostic factor. Decision making whether to correct valve regurgitation or not is still under debate.
