Abstract

The treatment of diabetes mellitus, especially type 2, has undergone literally revolutionary changes in the last few years. A number of completely new drug groups have been added, the recommended procedures have been changed on the basis of a number of clinical studies, and doctors who care for diabetics thus have a completely new perspective on the possibilities and procedures of therapy for type 2 diabetics.

A completely new review monograph of a group of leading Czech diabetologists and internists summarizes and comments on what current modern therapy for type 2 diabetes mellitus should and can look like. It maps what has proven good from traditional diabetological procedures and presents all new possibilities in the treatment of diabetes, not to mention the latest procedures such as incretin treatment, the latest antidiabetics, insulin analogues and their application regimens, bariatria, modern application techniques and more.

Type 2 diabetes mellitus is considered in its entirety, so the therapy of obesity, dyslipidemia and hypertension is also represented. The book follows up on the previously published monograph Diabetes mellitus type 1, which received the award of the Czech Diabetological Society for the best monograph of the year.

It is organized in an innovative way, which allows you to look at the issues from different perspectives and also opens up a number of topics that have been discussed only in magazines or at international conferences. A quality author team is a guarantee of a high professional level of the book.
