Abstract

Type 2 diabetes mellitus (DM) is heterogeneous, metabolic-endocrinological a disease in which both genetic and environmental influences are involved. Type 2 DM manifests itself in those who have a genetic data reduced sensitivity of peripheral tissues to self-insulin or insulin resistance (IR) and at the same time the genetically given limited ability of B-cells to produce such the amount of insulin that can compensate for insulin resistance and provide normoglycemia - insulin deficiency (ID).

According to the World Health Organization, diabetes mellitus is divided into subgroups A = DM predominantly insulin resistant and subgroup B = DM predominantly insulin deficient.
