Abstract
In 2006 was published two new recommendations ( "Guidelines") for the treatment and management of DM 2nd type (according to IDF and ADA and EASD). Nonpharmacological measures (life style) is still indispensable and permanent part of treatment.
Among the oral antidiabetic drug of choice is metformin for all 2 diabetics type (with the exception of a contraindication). Sulfonylurea and glinidy as second-line drugs and glitazones are recommended for combination therapy.
Insulin is possible and appropriate treatment with the need for adequate education and the principle of early initiation.
