Aortic valve infective endocarditis: a large abscess in the aortic root and reconstruction through aortic homograft

Abstract

The authors describe an example of successful surgical treatment of community infective endocarditis on a native aortic valve in the field of chronic heart defect and document some important aspects of infective endocarditis diagnostics and treatment.
