Abstract

PURPOSE: The main purpose of this paper was to compare simple algorithm assessing physical activity with two validated methods (IPAQ, 3DPAR). Their outputs were related to cardiorespiratory fitness and risk factors of cardiovascular disease.

METHODS: 136 survivors of Wilms tumor were included in study. They underwent clinical and laboratory examination, exercise test on bicycle ergometer and - according to the age - they filled in the questionnaire for physical activity assessment.

During their personal medical history estimation, they were also asked about their physical activity. RESULTS: We failed to prove significant association between IPAQ resp. 3DPAR and outcome measures, probably mainly due to low sample size.

Surprisingly we found significant correlation between our simple algorithm and cardiorespiratory fitness (r = 0.28, p = 0.0026) as well as significant inverse correlation between our algorithm and exercise blood pressure response (r = -0.27, p = 0.0043). CONCLUSIONS: We present simple
