Endovascular procedures are gradually becoming a routine method of treatment in symptomatic patients with deep vein thrombosis. Endovascularly we can solve both the underlying disease and the complications of deep vein thrombosis such as massive pulmonary embolization.
Endovascular treatment of thrombosis currently includes, in addition to local administration of a thrombolytic, also mechanical thrombectomy or a combination thereof. Good results are obtained in the treatment of residual stenoses and in chronic closures by stent implantation.
