Combined therapy in a patient with a dissatisfactory metabolic compensation of type 2 diabetes mellitus

Abstract

The case report documents a positive effect of a combined therapy of diabetes mellitus in an obese patient with a dissatisfactory metabolic compensation despite high daily dose of insulin in IIT regimen (intensified insulin regimen). The advantages achieved by a new modern therapy of diabetes mellitus are, besides the decrease of glycated hemoglobin without higher frequency of hypoglycemia, also non-glycemic effects.
