Abstract
The rapidly growing knowledge in all areas of medical science, the development of technology and the availability of new methods deepen the understanding of the genetic basis and essential physiological and pathological phenomena from the prenatal period through neonatal age to adulthood. This mainly concerns pediatrics, which has become a broad field, involving more and more interdisciplinary collaborations.
Deciding on the most suitable procedure, application of optimal algorithms in diagnostics and differential diagnostics as well as the choice of a rational, modern approach to the treatment of the constant deepening of knowledge in the field. In the fourth volume of Trends in Contemporary Pediatrics, a circle of authors - pediatric hematologists - interested in pediatricians introduces new developments in the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis and treatment of some selected non-cancerous blood diseases of childhood.
Selected chapters of hematology are enlivened by case reports, in each author they present extraordinary courses of some rare diseases.
