Abstract

The aim of the presented work was to identify the main motivation for a complex orthodontic-orthognathic therapy, to evaluate the treatment and its results from the patient's viewpoint. We used the method of a retrospective questionnaire study.

The sample had 53 patients, 42 females and 11 males. The results of questionnaire answers and statistical data based on these suggest that the most frequent reason for orthodontic-orthognathic therapy is health condition (the aim is to improve function of dentition), and also improvement of face appearance (both possibilities were quoted by 47.2% of patients).

We were also informed about the fact that t the majority of patients were satisfied with the treatment results.
