Abstract

In this case study, three patients are presented who had incomplete cauda equina syndrome following elective lumbar spine surgery for degenerative disease. In all patients, the neurological symptoms developed due to post-operative arachnoiditis.

Its aetiology, pathogenesis and diagnostics are discussed, as well as the methods of prevention and therapy which are still limited and often not beyond experimentation.
