Abstract
18-years old man with complications of retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) of adults was successfully surgically treated for tractional and rhegmatogenous retinal detachment of the right eye in 2007. Scleral buckling procedure with cerclage to reduce periferal vitreoretinal traction was used for the treatment.
Other complications of ROP in this patient were nystagmus, myopia, ectopic macula lutea, strabismus and reduced visual acuity (VA) of both eyes. Best corrected VA of the right eye was before retinal detachment 0,5, with detached retina 0,3 and improved post treatment 0,5.
The left eye has unchanged best corrected VA 0,02.
