Abstract

Urticaria is a common disabling skin condition caused by a variety of triggers. Different urticaria subtypes may be differentially responsive to particular therapies.

Although antihistamines remain a cornerstone of therapy, particular subtypes may also respond to novel the rapies. The review summarizes the most recent advances in understanding the pathogenesis, etiology, classification, examination and treatment of urticaria.
