Abstract

Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a primary myocardial disease defined by the development of hypertrophy, diastolic dysfunction and, in a quarter of patients, the presence of obstruction in the left ventricular outflow tract (subaortic obstruction) or in its middle part.
