Pathologist Donald Tear describe exactly 50 years ago and a year later published in the British Heart Journal Eight cases of deaths aged 14-44 years, of which seven died suddenly, and all autopsy showed asymmetric hypertrophy of the heart. This publication marked great interest in the disease then known as hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM), but on - shortcomings found then qualified as a diffuse tumors infarction (diffuse tumors of the myocardium).
