Olfactory dysfunctions in neurological and psychiatric disorders

Abstract

Olfactory dysfunctions have been found in many neurological, neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders, including Parkinson disease, Alzheimer-type dementia, schizophrenia and autism spectrum disorders. In this chapter we briefly summarize the findings of olfactory abnormalities in various neurological and psychiatric disorders.
