Annual 2008 report on renal replacement therapy in children in the Czech Republic

Abstract

The annual report on renal replacement therapy (RRT) in children in the Czech Republic gives the 2008 year data on the incidence of the end stage renal disease (ESRD) with 10,5 pmarp which is equal to the incidence reported by ERA-EDTA. The prevalence of ESRD 31,2 pmarp has constantly increasing tendency but still low comparing to ERA-EDTA data (55,4).

Peritoneal dialysis is the most common first choice modality of RRT in Czech pediatric ESRD population.
