Abstract

Chemotherapy represents an integral treatment or modality for NSCLC. However, the adjuvant chemotherapy in patients with resected tumors has not still optimally been effective.

Therefore, markers, that would increase their individual benefit for the individual patient are searched. In our study, we dealt with predictive and prognostic effect of the mRNA levels of selected DNA repair genes (ERCC1, RRM1 a nd BRCA1)to adjuvant chemotherapy.

We also investigated the diffrrence between normal lung tissue and cancer tissue of NSCLC. The significant relationship was found out.

Furthemore, significant relationship between mRNA experssion of our selected repair genes and prognosis of patients were detected- the higher expression of repair genes was connected with better prognosis. Neverthelless, any predicitve relationship to adjuvant chemotherapy was not manifested.
