This paper deals with the use of the methods of social anthropology in applied research, which aims to contribute to the development of active community life in the urban and rural environment. The presenters will be presenting two case studies with possibilities and limits of specific research methods (participant observation, semi-structured and unstructured interviews, focus groups, SWOT analysis) in various stages of research focusing on the specifics of field research.

The whole project is based on the assumption that if it is necessary to efficiently and effectively intervene in any social environment, it is necessary to have about him forward enough verified information. The aim of the research project is to describe the social structure of the population in the locality.

We also understand the nature of social relationships between key individuals, between formal community groups (associations, institutions, associations, companies and businesses, and other political associations) and informal community groups (the people who together substantial cooperation in the framework of friendly, neighborly, interest and activist collectives ). A summary of these relationships creates community respectively local identities.
