Reduction Processes in the Production of Spoken Czech: The Stability of Phonetic Features

Publication at Faculty of Arts |
2013

Abstract

The chapter presents a systematic and currently the most detailed overview of the most common sound speech reductions in contemporary spoken Czech. Based on the results obtained so far, the authors study the production stability of individual phonetic features.

Attention is paid primarily to segmental (that is, consonantal and vocalic) reductions, and reductions affected by prosodic factors.
