This article presents the results of a thesis, which aims to compare two existing methods (the SHMU method and R. Tihlárik's method) of correcting the systematic errors that occur when deploying the METRA measurement gauge.
Data for research was collected from the Čáslav, Nové Město and Bedřichov Reservoir stations.Tihlárik's method comes with results comparable to foreign experiments. The SHMÚ method probably substantially underestimates solid precipitation.
Corrections indicate that the extent of monthly underestimation depends on season and altitude and varies from 5 to 50% at selected stations due to these errors.
