Wider Social Contexts of the Education of Oder Adults in the Czech Republic

Abstract

The chapter describes the wider social context of the education of older adults in the Czech Republic during the last two decades. It deals with character of present demographic change and also discusses the terminology used in the field by the experts and in political documents as well.

The chaper focuses on main changes in economy and social policy in connection with policy making processes oriented to the issues af ageing Czech society. Changes in intergenerational relations, problems of volunteering of older adults and for older adult are involved too.

The last part of the chapter introduces the significant examples of scientific literature on the chosen topic.
