Abstract

Sellar region belongs to the intracranial areas with the highest degree of anatomical, embryological, neurological, and endocrinological complexity. Despite the fact it covers only a small anatomical area, the number of pathologic conditions that can be encountered here is substantial.

The chapter gives an overview of differential diagnostic approaches to pathologic conditions occuring in that area by means of computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging. Listed are both common as well as rare findings potentially causing diagnostic difficulties.
