Abstract
Čeněk Křička, born 1858, was a typical example of a self-made man. Young architect's promising career started in 1880s.
Able to exploit the potential of the growing industrial city of Kolin, he quickly became entrepreneur and co-founder of many industrial companies. As a member of the City Council and subsequently the City's Mayor he had to face strong opposition and was forced to resign in 1904.
He left for Prague where his good fortune went even better. There he died a wealthy and respected man in 1948.
